T-shirts
I realized, trying on about a billion shirts yesterday in the mall, that the reason I wear tank tops most of the time is that according to the clothing industry, I have Biceps of Doom. Shirts with sleeves that don’t stretch fit me well (except sometimes the hips, if the shirt is too long and doesn’t stretch at the bottom), but the sleeves cut off my circulation. Especially if they have cuffs. Cuffs are of the devil.
What’s hard is changing your perspective from “ugh, my arms are way to big for this shirt” to “ugh, this shirt is way too small for my arms.” The problem isn’t my body; the problem is the fashion industry’s inability to make clothes with the right proportions for me.
A related problem is that regular clothing manufacturers think my rack is huge and plus-size clothing manufacturers think it’s tiny. Maybe one day I’ll figure out how to sew my own shirts and avoid all this.
